Our History

1958

Founded in Jamestown, NY, with initial customers in military, commercial, and retail markets.

1972

Prescotech acquires Jamestown Plastics; James Baker is named General Manager.

1976

James and Jacqueline Baker purchase the company, setting the stage for family leadership.

1984

Jay Baker, Jim and Jackie’s son, becomes the company’s first full-time salesperson, expanding into automotive and medical manufacturing markets.

1985-1986

Expansion into a 100,000 sq. ft. facility, adding medical device packaging and OE automotive to the portfolio.

1997

Construction of a Class 10,000 Clean Room in Texas, supporting major medical device manufacturers.

2004

Achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, furthering quality standards.

2007

Jessup Baker, Jay’s son, joins Jamestown Plastics full-time, working on the second shift in the tool room.

2020

Developed the TrueHero™ Extreme Coverage Face Shield in 72 hours to meet urgent PPE needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2021

Jessup Baker is named President of Jamestown Plastics, becoming the third generation Baker to hold the position.

2023

Became a USA-based member of the global MedTech Network, connecting our medical cleanroom capabilities with a global audience.

2024

Achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification at New York and Texas locations, strengthening our focus on the medical market.
